I was introduced to electronic music and punk in the 1970’s. With electronics it was the beginning of that field, sort of, where we were transitioning from big modular systems to smaller keyboards. I started making little movies as a teenager, so obviously the soundtrack component was important to the films. By the time 1980 came about I was ready to create sonic and visual experiments. I started recording on cassette because it was a cheap and I was poor. I would not meet Christ Rankin for another two years until 1982, and he would play an important role in the development of Problemist. As I created music I also concurrently did visuals and always considered myself an interdisciplinary artist even though out periods in my life I have concentrated primarily on one medium or another.
